ARENA MAPLE AND SESSION MAPLE SHELL SETS
SONOR US is proud to announce two new shell sets, the Arena and Session, available only in the USA.
Since 2009, SONOR US has continually conducted meetings and training sessions with representatives of the best drum shops across America. These new drum sets were conceived and created as a direct result of discussions that ensued at those meetings. The main attributes that our dealers asked for regarding new Sonor drums were: playability, portability, great tone, quality shells, beautiful finishes that will fit in many genres and the best value for the dollar.
“These kits are a true collaboration between Sonor, an iconic company that has been manufacturing drums since 1875, and some of the most important MI retailers in the USA”, said Larry Nelson, Product Manager. “These sets have a real pedigree.” Arena is built for the rocker on the move and features a powerful 24”x16” no-mount bass drum, 13x10” tom-tom and a 16”x16” floor tom with a gorgeous transparent black gloss finish. Session is created for live performance and in the studio and features a punchy 22”x18” no mount bass drum, 12”x9” tom-tom and a 16”x16” floor tom with a stunning transparent red gloss finish.
Both kits feature cross-laminated North American Maple shells, created using SONOR’s special dual glue technique for strength and tone, the newest SONOR lugs with Tune Safe technology for enhanced tuning and consistency, Optimum Shell Measurement (OMS) technology for optimized head to rim contact resulting in excellent tone, better sustain, controlled decay and utilizing 45º tight tolerance bearing edges that are a prime component in producing the signature SONOR tone.
Add on component drums will be available as well. A 14”x14” floor tom and a 14”x5.5” snare drum will be offered in both finishes.
One of the most important requirements with Arena and Session was to offer great value, not just low price, so we are extremely happy to announce that these North American Maple shell sets will be available at only $699 (street price) for Arena and only $649 (street price) for Session. These new shell sets will be available at SONOR Certified
dealers beginning January 1, 2012.
