KRANKEN WELPEN…. WHAT THE F$%#@-IN... DAS IST GOOD YAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!

KW Promo IMG

KRANKEN WELPEN is a German/American heavy metal polka band based out of Southern California.

OK, this guy call me out of the blue and asks me about the magazine and what we do, and we start talking and he tells me he is with a “Metal Polka” Band… right out of the funny papers I do a verbal double take. “A Metal Polka” Band … I thought maybe he was pulling my leg, but they are the real deal, like straight out of the Black Forrest they are a real band, I got the CD and I have to tell you these guys are phenomenal.

KRANKEN WELPEN has played many a venue and have entertained many a folks with driving riffs and a seriously hilarious take on a cultural music that is often parodied, not since Weird Al has anyone been able to play Polka music with the enjoyable irreverence yet attentive to detail attitude.

64506_446371588768828_915040921_n“The music is original, melodic heavy metal in addition to songs that incorporate heavy polka elements” said the founders and creative team of the band are Professor Slaughter and Chaos, a married couple of German / Hungarian decent, who also compose actual polkas for Dutch and German clients.

KRANKEN WELPEN is’t de Bomb, complete with authentic costume of the old country and musical diversity moving from the comical to the serious in the measure of a chord

The band is known for theatrical live performances and crowd engagement, and often headlines Oktoberfests and beer festivals. In addition to original music, they perform live "heavy metal polka" renditions of classic Dr. Demento songs, as well as a heavy metal polka composition of Brahms "Hungarian Dance no. 5", complete with lyrics.

WELCOME TO THE CHURCH OF THE EPIC FAIL

THE WORLD PREMIERE OF “CHRISTOPHER TITUS: THE VOICE IN MY HEAD” DEBUTS ON COMEDY CENTRAL® ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 AT 10:00 P.M. ET/PT

NEW YORK, September 16, 2013 – No holds barred funnyman Christopher Titus returns to COMEDY CENTRAL for his fifth 90-minute stand-up special in the world premiere of “Christopher Titus: The Voice in My Head,” debuting on Saturday, October 5, at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

In front of a live audience at the Tower Theatre in Fresno, CA, Titus recounts some of his greatest failures, including his job as Darth Vader at a children’s birthday party, his first waterskiing lesson at age 5, and the reason babies are no longer allowed at Christopher Titus shows.

Leading up to the on-air premiere, COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up will feature preview clips from the special. Fans can follow Titus on Twitter at @TitusNation, and tweet about the special using the hashtag #voiceinmyhead.

Employing what he’s labeled “hard funny,” Titus has released five 90-minute albums in as many years, and has taped four 90-minute stand-up specials for COMEDY CENTRAL. After years of experimentation with dark and personal storytelling, he debuted his one-man show “Norman Rockwell is Bleeding” at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles. It was from this performance that the dark comedy “Titus” was born on Fox. The show earned Titus a Writer’s Guild nomination as well as an Emmy® nomination, and Newsday called him “TV’s most original voice since Seinfeld.”

Titus shone in 2007 as the lovable character Brod in ABC’s “Big Shots.” In 2013, Titus formed his own production company, Combustion World Industries, which produced “Voice In My Head.” His first film production will be “Special Unit,” about four disabled detectives. Titus describes it as “The Shield with handicapped people” and is planning for film production in 2014.

Titus is currently performing his newest one-man show, “The Angry Pursuit of Happiness,” to sold-out venues across the country.

“Christopher Titus: The Voice in My Head” is executive produced by Titus and Rachel Bradley.

We Can’t Stop Laughing, So, Why is the Rabbit Crying Al?

CD/DVD Review of the Comedy Central Presentation:

Al Madrigal - Why is the Rabbit Crying?

Comedy Central Premier on April 26th, 2013 at 11:00pm ET/PT

CD/DVD Hits Stores April 30th, 2013

Review by Joseph Timmons- Xombiewoof Magazine

On April 26th, 2013 at 11:00pm ET/PT Comedy Central will openly expose Al Madrigal and all of his naughty bits to an unsuspecting public.

In his first Comedy Central One Hour Stand-Up Special “Why is the Rabbit Crying? – we guarantee if it is tears of laughter you are after, there will not be one dry eye in the house!

Al Madrigal, one of the funniest comedians in America, will reach for and exceed all expectations. Rising up to the challenge, he will be standing tall in the spotlight on the Comedy Central stage where other Latino Comedians have found success . Al has joined Comedy Central’s major players - George Lopez, Gabriel Inglesias, and the “maestro de risa” Carlos Mencia – just to name a few.

Al Madrigal’s Comedy Central Special “Why is the Rabbit Crying?” completes this year’s Comedy Month with a huge performance of “it’s funny because it’s true” humorists style and the “in your face” and “I dare you not to laugh” mentality.

Al Madrigal is a widely celebrated comedian and enjoys a history of performances in many television shows, movies and in his role on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”. Al Madrigal is known and appreciated for his skills in the story telling comedic genre.

Warning: Video Contains Strong Language and is Un-Edited nor Censored

Al Madrigal talks with us on a real level with his immersive, witty and fully detailed commentary style. He tells us of his travels, while delivering lighting fast one liners in various points of view. Al Madrigal is an expert at interjecting humor into tales of his neighborhood, his marriage and his children. Reveling in stories of “nature loving humanitarian Cholos” as well as “Gangsta Soccer Coaches with excellent child rearing skills”.

Al Madrigal uses some of the colorful vocabulary words in his performance, but only to emphasize how funny life can be when you are just trying to survive through the drive by called life. Admittedly, this Comedy Central Special and it’s CD / DVD combo may not be suitable for children, but it definitely mirrors a truth about living in the city, marriage, raising children and all that life offers while trying not to loses what little sanity one is born with.

Al Madrigal is a comedian that understands social perception of reality, cultural heritage, living in this world and maintaining a family while still wanting to leave the house, this is hilarious romp through his mind and speaks to us in a real time voice of a man who just wants to make his mortgage payments, live a good life and get a little action while the kids are sleeping.

Named the “Best Stand Up Comedian” by HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts festival in Aspen, Al Madrigal is sure to represent!

George Lopez: It’s Not Me, It’s You!

Comedy Central Records, recorded during his HBO Live Comedy Special on July 14th, 2012

Street Release Date September 25th, 2012.

Review by Joseph Timmons, Xombiewoof Magazine

lopez01As a comedic entertainer and performer, few men have enjoyed the notoriety and long endured public appreciation as George Lopez, a truly talented and gifted man of the stage and screen who has had hit after hit, his own television show and is a beloved voice actor from many children’s shows and movies. George Lopez has seen and done it all, a personality that is the voice of the people, saying what we would love to say and doing on stage what we only dream of doing.

George has done it again with his most recent offering “It’s Not Me, It’s You”, recorded during his most recent live performance special on HBO and out on September 25th of 2012 on Comedy Central Records. George takes no prisoners in his verbal assault on the wrongs of the world, shedding light and mirth on the day to day realities of keeping it real in this country, dealing with bigotry and above all, being proud to be a hard working Latino, recognizing the achievements and accomplishments of a people he is proud to be a part of.

George Lopez speaks to us as his friends and family, frank and honest, pointing out to us what makes him “tick” and what makes him mad, proving he is still raw and powerful in his comedy, but not just spouting profanities and making it up as he goes along, keeping it real. George talks to us about everything from his youth to today, addressing his heritage and how he views the world. George takes aim at people and politics, the good, the bad and the truly ugly. George, in his trademark fashion makes light of the country’s political issues yet discusses real issues with his audience, working the crowd and with lightning fast reflexes, makes each joke hit home, time after time, never missing.

George Lopez Live

This live album is great in its content and hits home on many levels; it is, as I said before, “Raw and Real”, very ethnic on many levels but not exclusive. George Lopez involves everyone who listens as part of his world, rich and diverse, like the world he is part of.

Visit his site and the Comedy Central Website for more information on George Lopez, his appearances and his release dates.

image

imageROBIN WILLIAMS TO RECEIVE THE “STAND-UP ICON” AWARD AT “THE COMEDY AWARDS”

Prestigious Award To Be Presented During The Second Annual Event Honoring The Best In Comedy

Show Tapes At New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, April 28 And Premieres on COMEDY CENTRAL On Sunday, May 6

The Comedy Awards,” the annual event dedicated to honoring and celebrating the world of comedy, announced today that Robin Williams will be honored as the recipient of the prestigious “Stand-Up Icon” award. This honor is bestowed each year to a modern icon, an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to stand-up comedy and whose impact and innovations have changed the landscape and inspired future generations of entertainers. Williams will be honored for the unparalleled scope of his imagination, his repertoire of indelible characters, and his outstanding work as a stand-up comedian. Eddie Murphy was the inaugural recipient and he was presented with the honor by Tracy Morgan during last year’s show.

“Robin Williams is a comedic force of nature whose intensity and explosive free-associating style as a stand-up comedian made him a superstar,” said Casey Patterson, Executive Producer, “The Comedy Awards” and EVP, Event Production, Viacom Entertainment Group. “Academy Award-winner, beloved TV star and passionate activist, Robin used stand-up comedy to literally change the world with ‘Comic Relief.’ Robin Williams is more than an ICON… he is one of the most important comedic voices of our time. We're thrilled, and just a little bit scared, to be honoring Robin at ‘The Comedy Awards’ this year.”

The “Stand-Up Icon” award will be presented during the taping of the event at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, April 28 and the show will premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL on Sunday, May 6. “The Comedy Awards” will also air on COMEDY CENTRAL’s international channels across Europe, New Zealand, India, Israel and Africa.

An Academy Award-winning actor and multiple Grammy-winning performer unparalleled in the scope of his imagination, Robin Williams began his career as a stand-up comedian, delighting audiences across the country with the beginnings of what would become his renowned repertoire of indelible characters. Throughout his legendary career as a star of stage and screen, Williams has returned to his stand-up roots, most recently with his critically-acclaimed, sold-out, “Weapons of Self Destruction” comedy tour during which Williams performed 90 shows in 65 cities in front of 300,000 fans across the U.S., as well as London and Canada.

Well known for his free-associative monologues and for pointing out life’s absurdities through his astute social and political observations, Williams’ previous comedy tour was in 2002. After a 16-year absence from the stand-up scene, he hit the road and toured America with a critically acclaimed one-man show that became the highest-grossing comedy tour ever and culminated in a final performance filmed by HBO and broadcast live from New York on July 14, 2002. The special, entitled “Robin Williams: Live On Broadway,” was nominated for five Emmy Awards.

Offstage, Williams takes great joy in supporting causes too numerous to identify, covering the spectrum from health care and human rights, to education, environmental protection, and the arts. He has toured the Middle East with the USO a total of five times, including visits to Iraq and Afghanistan, to help raise morale among the troops and is, perhaps, best known philanthropically for his affiliation with “Comic Relief,” which was founded in 1986 as a non-profit organization to help America’s homeless. To date, the overall efforts of the “Comic Relief” organization have raised over $50 Million.

A full list of previously announced nominees for the 2012 “The Comedy Awards” and more information about the show and its prestigious Board of Directors can be found at www.thecomedyawards.com. “Modern Family,” Bridesmaids,” “30 Rock,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” and Louis C.K. lead the nominations and fans can vote for “Breakout Performer of the Year.” Click here to view a highlight reel from last year’s show. Follow “The Comedy Awards” on Twitter @TheComedyAwards.

“The Comedy Awards” has once again joined forces with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to endow The American Comedy Fund. Without a union or other protection, many comedians face unique challenges to succeed and survive. The Fund provides much-needed financial assistance, health benefits and other resources for comedians across the country during times of need, crisis or transition. The American Comedy Fund is administered by EIF in collaboration with the Motion Picture & Television Fund and The Actors Fund.

Don Mischer, Casey Patterson, EVP, Event Production, Viacom Entertainment Group and Charlie Haykel are the Executive Producers. Juliane Hare is Producer. Beth McCarthy Miller, the Peabody and DGA Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Director, will once again direct “The Comedy Awards.” “The American Comedy Awards” were originally created by George Schlatter.
