Band From the Boardroom is a group of musicians from Southern California that wear suits during the week at the businesses they run, and on the weekend, they rock out! They have been selected to compete in the Finals of "The Playoff", a new national competition to find the best company rock band in America, at the venerable Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, September 12, 2015.

The Music Gods have indeed smiled down favorably on Band From The Boardroom. The Southern California-based 'corporate band' representing Sante Fe, California based Swann Communications were selected to compete in the Finals of "The Playoff", a national competition to find America's best company rock band,  sponsored by, and taking place at, the venerable  Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, 1100 E. 9th St., on Saturday, September 12. Doors open at 7 p.m.; Band From The Boardroom performance time is 7:50 p.m. Tickets are $25. (which includes a tour of the museum plus the concert).

Inc. Magazine is also a sponsor of this very special event, which additionally features seven other bands competing that evening.

BAND FROM THE BOARDROOM - BIO

Three years ago, the Swann Security team and had a casting call for all Swann musicians and musician friends that are customers and suppliers. Many people from Swann joined along with their buyer from Amazon.com, their buyer from Microcenter who blows a mean blues harp and several other people from the consumer electronics industry joined in the jam.

The first two years, the jam was at SIR Studios in Las Vegas. When it grew larger they moved it to a new venue this past January at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, also in Las Vegas. They decided to use the jam to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and it was a great success, drawing almost three-hundred people and raising money for charity.

Band members include: Geoff and Jenni on percussion, Richard and Ozzy on guitar, David on bass, Mike on keys, Sandy on vocals and our company president, Keith on drums. Drummer Keith Oldridge says, “What a bloody trip! Band from the Boardroom is taking on a life of its own. To have our little jam band beat out 200 corporate bands that practice and did studio recordings for the submission is nuts!”

Singer Sandy Scott comments, "we really just fell backwards into this… becoming a real band. We all just play music for fun and because we have been livelong musicians, it is in our blood. The band works hard together during the day at the office and we blow off some steam playing music for fun! This is amazing that we would be given the opportunity to play our music for so many people-we are so thankful!”.

As their notoriety has grown, the group has been featured in articles including the Moorpark Acorn, the Los Angeles Beat, and AXS.com, among others.

World Gone Wrong is not just another Metal album of belligerent rants and dark demonic haze, nor is Black Valentine just another Metal band. The Black Valentine sound has a dynamic range and depth that can pack a venue in a blink and get the heart pumping. With a street cred that already has them in the public eye, they stand poised to make the music scene vibrant once more, serious art here no poser action, one word to describe Black Valentine… “REAL”!

I would like to say the entire album has a conquering presence, but these tracks stand out the most and offer a full look at the bands ability to go from one end of a music spectrum to the other with a flawless glide.

The Rock & Roll of the Late 60s and 70s brought to us visionary musical genius that sang with a deep growl and played with a hypnotic and fiery passion, as time continued, many of these voices changed or simply slipped away into the night on the blues train to obscurity. The British Invasion brought us bands like Deep Purple, The Who, Led Zeppelin and others that had the Blues induced power chords and the driving beat to back it up. Now, in the tradition of true “Stoner Rock” a Swedish band named Siena Root takes us on a new ride through the parallel dimension of both time and space.

Siena Root came to life in Stockholm in the late 90's and is today considered one of the pioneering Swedish bands in old school rock music. In 2004, when the internet and mp3’s were the new deal, the band persistently released their debut album as a double vinyl LP. Listeners would start carrying down their old turntables from the attic, thus marking the first steps in what we today refer to as “the retro trend”. The live act came to be an uncompromising show, using all the heavy vintage equipment that most bands lack the strength and passion to carry along. Even a full size multi-track tape recorder was brought on tour during the recording of the live album. With the immense dedication to do it all the way, Siena Root would always stand out from the others.

Since the beginning, Siena Root has mostly performed as an experimental collective, the foundation being a trio with guitar, bass and drums. Several guest musicians would complete the line-up, and the fans would never expect to see the same show twice. The result was a rare musical diversity throughout the first five albums and hundreds of live shows. Some of these skilled musicians eventually became more frequent, until Siena Root finally decided to settle as a solid five-piece rock act. The adventure continues, and the pioneers are getting ready to plant another flag in the land of root rock!

 

 

This is the US debut album, from Siena Root, described as a heavy, heady blend of Deep Purple & Iron Butterfly. This Psychedelic / Folk Rock ensemble, Sam Riffer on Bass, Love Forsberg on Percussion, Erik "Errka" Petersson on Organ, Matte Gustavsson on Guitar and the amazing Jonas "Joe Nash" Åhlen providing Vocals have a sound that rivals the bands that paved the way for many of today’s Rock bands yet have a unique and tremendous sound of their own. Pioneers is a collection of powerful songs and includes a fantastic tribute / cover of Whole Lotta Love which as many know is a difficulty to empower, until now I had never heard a rendition with as much feeling and definition as the original. This album is a definite 5 Star, will shine forever release and already looks to be one of the Top Albums for 2015. As quoted in interview, Mick Box of the legendary Rock Group Uriah Heep said “It’s nice to hear a band like Siena Root playing it for real in this overly-processed world that we live in. ENABLER announces co-headlining North American tour with CALL OF THE VOID

Ohio-based hardcore/metal outfit ENABLER will be touring North America next year as co-headliners with CALL OF THE VOID!

Led by frontman, songwriter, and guitarist Jeff Lohrber, ENABLER stands as one of the most honest, pissed off, and heartfelt metallic hardcore bands around today. The band's sound, which is a unique mixture of thrash, death metal, punk rock, and hardcore has made an impact all over the world since their debut EP, Eden Sank to Grief, was first released on Andy Hurley's (FALL OUT BOY, RAICETRATOR) FC Records in 2010. Two full length albums, three EPs, and multiple split and compilation appearances have been released on various labels since then, including the critically acclaimed La Fin Absolue Du Monde, which will be re-issued on Dec. 8th via Century Media Records Europe with 3 additional tracks.

Dave Davies, founding member of The Kinks and the one man attributed with the invention of amp distortion, (for reason of his taking a blade to the cone of an amp speaker, “Ripping” the very fabric of sound ad altering the timeline of all music to come) presents to the Rock & Roll loving community an album that is both provocative and humbling, reflective and a personal examination of one’s life through open eyes, Rippin Up Time, is now available. Dave Davies has been single handedly been noted as the musical genius that inspired Rock Legends from Van Halen to Green Day.

The album Rippin Up Time, produced by Dave Davies and David Nolte, features 10 new and original tracks, reminiscent of the classical and beloved “Kinks” style, yet wholly new and innovative in composition. While being very modern sounding, it still retains Dave’s “Smokey” vocal style. Dave explained in interview his feelings about creating and recording this new ground shaking album “It was wonderful working with my son Russ Davies and old friend David Nolte on this project, I am really excited about this album”, Davies went on to comment “Rippin Up Time is about a man’s reflections of his past, his fears, anxieties and optimism about the present and hopeful expectations of the future”

Rippin Up Time’s release today coincides with Dave Davies plans for his Us Tour starting November 11^th, 2014 at the Turner Ballroom in Milwaukee Wisconsin and the prior Legacy recordings release of career spanning collection Anthology titled The Essential Kinks, celebrating 50 Years of The Kinks Music and the upcoming release of the Newly Remastered edition of Muswell Hillbillies, the Kink’s “masterpiece of working class observation”, containing all original the content of the original album and 9 Bonus Tracks, never before released and a DVD of a rare 1972 television performance never released in North America.

In Review, Rippin Up Time is bold, expressive and well worth the wait, Davies compels the listener to examine and self-evaluate, connecting with the listener on every deep rooted level, in plain verse, without misguided questioning or symbolisms, Dave Davies brings home the message of life’s never ending quest for significance. In both a serious nature, with songs like the title track Ripping Up Time, and Semblance of Sanity, the question of a man’s place in the universe comes into play, and when does one reach a breaking point. One track I found most endearing and quite humorous, King of Karaoke is a story well known of dark and smokey bars with would be rock stars never discovered, singing their favorite songs hoping for some acknowledgement of their talent, often fueled by liquid courage while retired prom queens attempt to regain admiration as well.

If you love Rock with meaning, songs with mirth and music with a message, Rippin Up Time is an album you need to own, listen to and share, even if it’s only with your fellow late night bar hounds, reminiscing of the Good Old Days and singing Lola while drinking on a Low Budget,… sorry, a play on the fabulous history of a great performer and talented artist.

DEVILMENT: JACKASS Star Featured on Debut Album, Third Episode of Official Album Interview Series Online!

 

Witch County England's finest, DEVILMENT featuring the master of horrors, Dani Filth (CRADLE OF FILTH, TEMPLE OF THE BLACK MOON), have announced that Bam Margera (MTV JACKASS, Viva La Bam, FUCKFACE UNSTOPPABLE) will be featured on the band's upcoming debut album, The Great And Secret Show, which is scheduled to be released on Halloween 2014 (October 31).

Margera can be heard duetting on DEVILMENT's cover of the MIDNIGHT OIL classic 'Beds Are Burning' which will be included as a bonus track on the limited first edition of the album.

Commented Bam: "Having known Dani for a while now, and having him sing onstage with me at my wedding in Iceland last year, when he asked me to be a part of a song DEVILMENT were covering, I naturally jumped at the chance. The original track was awesome, this new interpretation of it is even better and I am just stoked to be a part of Dani's new band's stuff, which in all honesty f**king rocks like a muthaf**king f**k!“

Added Dani Filth: "It was actually on my birthday last year when the idea came to me to cover this track, as for some strange reason I kept hearing it being played on the local radio station and subsequently, a few times when I breezed into petrol stations and food stores. I've always liked the song since hearing it in my teens, as I think it's very anthemic, and CRADLE OF FILTH have always been known for undertaking wacky songs and bastardising them to our own twisted ends, so with my birthday epiphany bursting upon me, I put the idea of covering the tune to the rest of the band... to a positive response. As for my good friend Bam Margera, I thought it would be cool for him to demonstrate his vocal prowess by returning a favour, for he'd had me sing with him (strangely enough, ANATHEMA's 'Sleepless') at his wedding ceremony in Iceland last year and I thought it a top notch way to get him back in style! He didn't require much persuasion... In all seriousness, it was a challenge and as a band we have given the track a slightly more psychotic edge, courtesy of pounding drums, hypnotic bass, industrial-esque guitars and a wicked keyboard melody lending it a John Carpenter/Tubular Bells 'Exorcist' vibe. Plus of course there's the vocals!"

The band, consisting of Dani Filth (vocals), Daniel Finch (guitar & samples) Colin Parks (rhythm guitar/lead guitar), Nick Johnson (bass guitar), Aaron Boast (drums), Lauren Francis (keyboards & vocals) recently signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

The Great And Secret Show was recorded at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with producer Scott Atkins, who has previously worked with the likes of CRADLE OF FILTH, BEHEMOTH, AMON AMARTH, SYLOSIS and GAMA BOMB. The artwork (see below/attached) was created by legendary Drake Mefestta.
