Event Report by Joseph Timmons – Xombiewoof Magazine

This past weekend April 6th and 7th of 2013 marked a fantastic moment for Santa Maria and the whole Central Coast of California, but not for the Wine and Strawberries that are commonly associated with this part of the Golden West.

The 2013 Central Coast Guitar Show brought many Music Equipment retailers and trades people to the Santa Maria Fair Grounds. With them came the unique and once a year opportunity to find that one of a kind Vintage Guitar or Classic Amplifier one could be searching for, as well as many great musicians and artists.

A weekend music equipment festival started by Ed Miller, a Central Coast resident and musician, gives many locals an opportunity to find the Vintage Guitar or equipment item they may have spent a lifetime to find. The Central Coast Guitar Show was also a place to see, meet and greet local music legends like Jon Stephen, and artist extraordinaire that frequently plays the area and Larry Lehmann, a musician and inventor of the Arch Top Jazz Guitar Pickup whom performed many of his fantastic original songs during the event.

IMG_5793_1Local Tradesman and Guitar Manufacturers were very well received by event goers, some that came from miles away to see their wares, Ernie Ball and National Reso-Phonic Guitars, both from San Luis Obispo California were there in grandeur, with their known and new offerings as well as Demeter Amplification, manufacturers of many well-known pedals and amplifiers from Templeton California.

We were able to get some great Interviews with the vendors and many of the event participants, and all agreed that this was a great weekend for everyone involved. We look forward to the next event to be hosted by Ed Miller and Unfinished Business, until then, keep playing and keep on grooving.
