Milford, NH – This spring, Earthworks will release its first ever wireless product, the WL40V Wireless Vocal Microphone Capsule. Adapted in wireless capsule form from the TEC Nominated SR40V Vocal Microphone released over the summer, the WL40V delivers the pristine sound quality of the SR40V to wireless systems.
Designed to maintain the same signature sound as its wired counterpart, the WL40V delivers a detailed and realistic vocal sound that requires little to no EQ. Its textbook perfect hypercardioid polar pattern and extended flat frequency response translate to a natural on- and off-axis
performance coupled with benchmark levels of clarity and detail. “With the tremendous success that we that we experienced with the SR40V, the wireless counterpart was a natural next step,” says Bill Norton, Earthworks® Chief Operating Officer. “Furthermore, during the development process of the WL40V, we teamed up with several wireless specialists in the pro audio industry to ensure the tolerances and specs
for the capsule and transmitter would be on par with our current established accuracy.” The wireless capsule is interchangeable with any screw-on-type handheld transmitters that receive a 31.3mm/pitch 1.0mm threading, such as those from Lectrosonics, Line 6 and Shure.
Earthworks expects to begin shipping the WL40V by the spring of 2012. Pricing has not yet been determined. The WL40V, like all Earthworks microphones, will come with a 15 year warranty. The WL40V Wireless Microphone Capsule, as well as microphones from the rest of Earthworks lineup, will be at NAMM in Anaheim, California January 19-22, 2012.
