MXL Presents the CR77

image

The CR77 Live Stage Microphone made its debut at Summer NAMM to an overwhelmingly positive response. The black and chrome, vintage-style microphone turned heads at the Sam Ash Open Mic Night and at the MXL & MOGAMI Live Music Showcase.

The CR77 has an integrated windscreen to filter out plosives and background noise. The grill has smaller holes to eliminate feedback on stage, and a built-in shockmount reduces handling noise without hiding any of the mic's visual appeal.

The CR77 is slated for release at the first of the year, just in time for Winter NAMM!

LAURA WILDE To Guest On WVOX's Metal Mayhem This Tuesday

laura_sittingCurrently opening for legendary rocker TED NUGENT on his North American dates, LAURA WILDE will be Matt O'Shaughnesssy and Tony Gizzo's very special guest on WVOX.com's Metal Mayhem show this Tuesday, August 6th at 10:15pm Eastern exclusively on WVOX.com Worldwide and 1460 AM.

Laura Wilde is a 23 year old, driven by her obsessions. Her love of musical instruments and her fascination for old-style blues and rock music has resulted in her being invited to open for such artists as diverse as FUEL, SHINEDOWN and TED NUGENT. Originally from Melbourne Australia, her talent on both guitar and bass quickly made Laura a heavily sought after musician which led to work with a who’s who of Australian artists.

When she was 18 years old, Laura went out on her own 22 show tour, attended university, continued her session work, held down a job at a local guitar store and even played a private acoustic show for the Saudi Arabian royal family. At 19, she moved to Los Angeles, and began work on her debut album, Sold My Soul, which earned Laura great respect and strong reviews. Released in 2012, Sold My Soul, features Laura’s trademark brand of rock. With songs like “Irate”, “For You” and the title track and first single  “Sold My Soul”,  the album showcases Laura’s talents as both a singer and guitarist. Her playing style reflects the musical dexterity of many of her biggest influences, including SUZI QUATRO, SLASH, JIMI HENDRIX and JIMMY PAGE.

Laura will be entering the studio later this year and has some exciting guests scheduled to make an appearance. When their hectic touring schedules allow them both the time, she will be writing a song with Geezer Butler from BLACK SABBATH and is hoping he may even produce a track or two. She describes the title track of Sold My Soul as “a celebration of my coming to America and all of the amazing places I experienced while out on tour.”

With close to 50 dates across America booked for the summer of 2013, a good proportion of the country will get to see what many are already warmly embracing.

It is good to be King - King Kartel brings it in a new British Invasion

Introduction / Music Review: King Kartel

By Joseph Timmons: Xombiewoof Magazine

KK Logo cover

King Kartel, self-announced as “a band without compromise” is just that, an honest voice of the new UK generation. Based out of Manchester England, singer Hugh McCreesh's leads a unit of inventive and talented musicians through a modern “post-Punk” inspired repertoire of bright and vibrant music, vocals that stand out among other bands, which rely on glitz than true talent. I would say that Hugh, Mo, Tom and Mick have what it takes to make the message of their music matter.

Their music - loud and radio-friendly (but nowhere near the boring “Euro-Pop” that flows like water through the US airwaves) is heavy and speaks to their audience as only real British Rockers can.

Their intrinsic moody tones reverberate and create a synergy that is melodic and hypnotic. They draw their style from influences such as The Libertines, The Beatles, The Courteeners, The Vaccines, Oasis, Stone Roses, and The White Stripes.

King Kartel’s music has a backbeat of driving rhythms with a mix of modern / bright guitar work and unpretentious vocals for today’s youth, but I would compare them to early works of The Clash mixed with Post pop music such as 80’s icons like the Sugarcubes or the introspective lyrical content of The Smiths, but without the dark or depressing prose.

King Kartel is not afraid to poise themselves in front of the mirror and see themselves for what they are and show in their music the face of youth trying to make sense of a crazy world they will soon inherit and try to repair.

King Kartel has released several songs, available to listen to on Soundcloud and I would presume is working their way towards a fantastic national release, but on their website http://www.kingkartel.com, They make no reference to an album, but direct their fans and new followers to their YouTube site to view performance videos and online social sites to listen and share their music, I would suggest you see and share their music and follow their progress.

oct releaseKing Kartel will be releasing their Debut EP due out on October 1st of this year. Tentatively, it will be called 'Not Done Fighting’. The title track has already been well received and getting strong airplay on BBC.

With upbeat tracks like “How’d He Ever Pull That” to driving anthems like “Stone Cold Killer” and “Artillery” it is obvious that King Kartel has the right to rule the night club scene and will definitely move up to the ranks of Rock and Roll royalty.

Visit their Soundcloud page and give a listen to your new Best Mates across the pond!
