Chad Sexton of 311 joins SABIAN Artist Family

Chad-Sexton

SABIAN is proud to announce that Chad Sexton of 311 is now endorsing SABIAN Cymbals.

Chad founded 311 in 1988 with his bandmates in Omaha, Nebraska. He began his career using the SABIAN cymbals that can be heard on the band’s first 3 records. Their 1995 self-titled break-out album won the band huge success with the singles "Down" and "All Mixed Up" and introduced the world to Chad's distinctive drumming style.

SABIAN Artist Relations Manager Chris Stankee writes, "It’s so great to have Chad back in the family. When 311 broke no one was doing what Chad was doing. His rudimental ability and strong sense of the pocket combined with a transparent studio sound made his grace notes the envy of all. Most alternative drummers at the time weren't employing dynamics and precision the way he was. For that reason he continues to be a great influence on drummers. Chad is a guy who could march on the line for the Blue Devils or sit in for David Garibaldi with Tower of Power − a true drummer's drummer."

"I began my career on Sabian Cymbals and I'm happy to be back. I've been impressed with their innovation for a long time, particularly the O-Zone cymbals. I love that short dirty tone in my crashes and the Artisan models I'm using are also incredible." – Chad Sexton.

311 has released 10 studio albums, a live album, four EPs and four DVDs, and are approaching the 9 million mark in records sold in the US. The band is currently finishing a new album, Chad's first using SABIAN Cymbals since the early 1990's.
